West Round 2
Oilers 1
Flames 3
The Battle of Alberta is going exactly as advertised and who will advance is anyones guess. Game 4 took place in Calgary with the hometown Flames trailing 2-1 in the series and needing a win to realistically stay alive in these playoffs. D. Kuemper has been excellent for the Flames these playoffs but never better then he needed to be last night as he turned aside 34 of 35 Oiler shots. That stat in itself was impressive but was even more impressive when you consider that the Oilers had the better of the play for 40 minutes putting 30 of those shots on goal. The rest of the Flames rewarded their goalie for his stellar play with a total shutdown period in the third only allowing 5 shots and hemming Edmonton in their own end for most of the period. C. Hellybuyck faced 14 third period shots and 38 overall but this day and game belonged to D. Kuemper and the Flames once again all even. Series tied at 2.

Blues 2
And down goes the champ!! Nobody likes to lose....no defending champ likes to lose....and nobody wants to get dominated and broomed away but that is exactly what happened to St. Louis and GM Eric. Lets be honest, this was not a game St.Louis deserved to lose and if this script played out another 10 times the Blues would likely have won 7 or 8 of them. Thats the facts but at the end of the day GM Bryce and his Avalanche put themselves in the position to eliminate the Blues in dramatic fashion and they did! St. Louis let 1-0 and 2-1 leads slip away despite having control throughout and the final shot totals favored the homeside 44-24. The lone shot faced however, in overtime hit the twine behind a stunned T.Jarry and eliminated he and his Blues mates from further action in this years playoffs. It's off to the conference finals to await whomever is left standing from the Battle of Alberta for the Av's. Colorado brooms the Blues 4-0
