Western Finals
Oilers 1
Av's 2
Game 2 finished with a predictable result but Edmonton probably feels a bit jobbed. Everyone expects this to be a long and competetive series and so far so good as Colorado gets back to level footing. This game was a rather dull affair through 2 periods with both teams having mustered 19 shots on goal. The difference was Colorado was able to net 2 of those shots while Edmonton managed none. The third period was all Oilers however as they outshot the homeside 16-8 in the final frame and despite cutting the lead just 39 seconds into the frame were unable to slip another by a stout Freddie Andersen. Andersen was full value for his ninth win of these playoffs stopping 34 of the 35 shots he faced and garnering first star status. Colorado is breathing a huge sigh of relief after this one hoping for a split in Edmonton while the Oilers look to take control of the series on home ice. Off to Edmonton with the series tied at 1
