Edmonton returned home for Game 3 after successfully stealing home ice in Colorado ....well they stole a game at home now as well. Colorado did everything right in this game outshooting the home side in all 3 periods and 46-31 in regulation but despite all that were only able to force an extra period after netting 2 in the third to tie. Auston Mathews in the sim was able to do something the real life Mathews couldn't and scored when it mattered in overtime to snatch victory from defeat. J. Halak got the surprise start allowing C. Hellebuyck to return to 100% and was sensational turning aside 53 shots and improving his record to 4-0-0. Could this game now spell the end for Colorado??? I can't imagine a team playing a road playoff game much better then the Av's did only to lose but to make matters worse F. Andersen is clearly fatigued and will need a rest so look for Francouz to be between the pipes for Game 4 against a fully rested C. Hellebuyck. Oilers gain control and look to grab Colorado by the throat up 2-1.
