Vegas at the Draft
Lots of high end talent come to Vegas
Day 1
Adam Fantilli C – 4th Overall – 6’2” 194 lbs – Projected Franchise Centre that can play in all situations. Came to no surprise to anyone that Fantilli was available at 4. Skates well for his size, likes to hold onto the puck to make a good play whether that to make a pass, take a shot or drive to the front of the net to get those goals. Had a good rookie NHL year but expect him to take a big leap next year.
2023-24 – NHL - 49GP 12G 15A 27Pts
David Reinbacher D – 19th Overall – 6’2” 194 lbs - After being drafted 5th overall by Montreal in the NHL, Reinbacher struggled in the Swiss league only putting up
11 points through 35 games. Although he was playing against men. After his season ended he came to North America and played for Laval. Here showing is potential in playing in all situations and putting up 2 goals and 3 assists through 11 games. Projected to be a top 1/2 Dman for montreal for years to come. Expected to play a major part next year in Laval.
2023-24 – NL - 35GP 1G 10A 11Pts
Kasper Halttunen RW – 28th Overall – 6’3” 216 lbs – Halttunen in any other NHL draft would of easily been a 1st round pick. Halttunen has an excellent shot, has moves well for a big man. Tied for the league lead in PPG with London of the OHL. Was able to watch him a lot this year and one thing to take away is his defensive side of the game is not as bad as some make it seem. Expect him to challenge for a NHL gig or go back to London and win another OHL championship with London. If in London will go to the WJC for a chance to dominate there.
2023-24 – OHL - 57GP 32G 29A 61Pts
2023-24 – WJC – 7GP 3G 3A 6Pts
Otto Stenberg C/LW – 36th Overall – 5’11” 172 lbs – Well rounded, dynamic office player that creates offence with his playingmaking and vision. Very high ceiling. He can beat you on the rush or use his quick release. Will be back at the WJC for another crack at it.
2023-24 – SHL- 31GP 3G 3A 6Pts
2023-24 – WJC – 7GP 5G 4A 9Pts
Marco Kasper C/W – Trade – 6’1” 192 lbs – Physical two-way center who plays with a lot of energy. Kasper plays every shift like its his last. Leaves everything out on the ice. Always finishes a check and makes you pay for making a play. Expect him to get every chance to make the wings this fall.
