Western Finals

Oilers    4

Av's      5 (OT)

Well....well...well...the series that was predicted to be close and long continues to go to script. After Edmonton immediately stole home ice in Colorado and then took a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 at home this series could have already been over but not only did that not happen but the tables are now turned! Colorado has rattled off two straight wins to take the series lead and push the Oilers to the brink of elimination. Colorado controlled the action for the first 2 periods and should have been home and cooled out but some strong play from Edmonton starter C. Hellebuyck and some not so strong play from Colorado starter F. Andersen kept the game a 1 shot difference. Colorado's lack of efficiency nearly cost them the win as Edmonton was by far the better team in the third outshooting the home side 18-9 but only outscoring them 2-1 to force the overtime session. GM Bryce must have had some strong words in the room for the boys after that period as they jumped all over the Oilers hemming them in for the entire time not allowing a shot against enroute to the win. Series shifts back to Edmonton for Game 6 with Colorado up 3-2
