BRHL Finals

Habs    2

Av's     3 (OT)

Well it only seems fitting that a series that goes 7 games would also need overtime so here we are! In what was expected to be a long and even series we got exactly what we expected but the route here was not at all to be expected. Montreal had all the momentum up 3 games to 1 while steadily having the better of the play and really at that point did anyone expect the Av's to come back to win???? I don't think so but Freddie Andersen had other ideas and was simply the better tender the last 3 games of the series. Case in point was the first period of this one as Colorado didn't appear to get the memo for the start time. Montreal owned the game and were all over the Av's but when the buzzer went to end the first the score read 1-1. There is obviously a huge difference in the style of play based on that score and we will never know what could/would have happened had the Av's left the frame down by a couple but it is fair to say that maybe we would have had different champs today! Fantastic Freddie did his job early and his teammates did theirs late as after the first period Colorado was the much better team outshooting Montreal 41-18 the rest of the way. Congrats to both GM's for a great final and to the Colorado organization for a very improbable comeback victory. Av's win series 4-3
