2025 BRHL Mock Draft
Mocking the 2025 BRHL draft
With only two days left on our season schedule I thought it would be a good time to put out a mock draft. The 2025 BRHL draft will consist of 2024 drafted players but will exclude goalie prospect Ilya Nabokov since he was eligible in our 2024 draft. It should be fun to see GM's try and draft him anyway. The draft order could still change in the last two days, but it could also change from the draft lottery. I hold no picks in this draft until round 4.
1. Anaheim Ducks - Macklin Celebrini C
No brainer here with the first pick taking the complete center. Carlsson & Celebrini as a one two punch down the middle should set up Devon well for the future.
2. Seattle Kraken (From SJS) - Ivan Demidov RW
Taking a goalie this high is way too big of a stretch, and Demidov seems to be the consensus number two pick.
3. Toronto Maple Leafs - Zeev Buium LHD
As I mentioned earlier, pick number 3 is where things get interesting. I have the offensively gifted defender going third to Garrett's Leafs. He isn't too far into the rebuild so there are prospect needs in all positions. He fell in the NHL draft but I don't think he'll slip in our draft.
4. Carolina Hurricanes - Beckett Sennecke RW
I have never seen Rich draft this high in our draft, so there isn't much historically to go by. I have a feeling he'll lean towards the winger here if Buium does go 3rd.
5. Winnipeg Jets - Artyem Levshunov LHD
I feel like Doc would want to pick Buium here, or failing that Sennecke. But I have those two mocked ahead of the Jets pick so I think Doc will stick to BPA and go with the Russian defender here at 5.
6. Pittsburgh Penguins - Zayne Parekh RHD
Matt picks up the Penguins organization after some musical chairs this off-season and sits with pick number 6. He has some decent pieces on the back end already but adding Parekh and his high offensive ceiling could be a smart move.
7. Columbus Blue Jackets - Berkly Catton C
Jesse has some good wingers in the system but is lacking a top flight center. For that reason I suspect he'd lean towards Catton at 6th.
8. Vegas Golden Knights - Sam Dickinson LHD
I know Joe is a London Knights fan. And I also know he's stacked with high end defensive prospects. But I think the appeal to draft Dickinson is too high to pass up.
9. San Jose Sharks (From STL) - Cayden Lindstrom C/LW
Not playing hockey this year has Lindstrom dropping in our draft. The size and skill combination though is too good to see him fall too far.
10. Minnesota Wild - Ilya Protas LW
The first big jump in this mock draft. This might be too big a jump for the big winger, but I think Toby will look to make a splash with his new team and swing for the fences.
11. Montreal Canadiens - Michael Hage C
Other than the obvious of a Habs prospect going to a Habs fan, I think this is a fair spot for Hage to go anyway and isn't a reach.
12. LA Kings - Cole Eiserman LW
Just like Cole Caufield, I think it's going to be easy to overlook the issues in Eiserman's game due to the fact he scores goals at a great clip. Bedard will need talented wingers to work with in LA.
13. Tampa Bay Lightning (From PHI) - Anton Silayev LHD
I have listed team needs for Eric as forwards. That said, mocking Iginla or another forward here didn't make much sense. I think Eric will stick to BPA and make moves via trade to compensate.
14. Ottawa Senators - Carter Yakemchuk RHD
Brayden needs a bit of everything since the Senators have been stripped down. He has the high end winger coming in Michkov, so why not get the NHL sens pick in Yakemchuk.
15. San Jose Sharks (From SEA) - Tij Iginla LW
The other injured first rounder who only got in limited games. I don't think Iginla would fall further than this.
16. Florida Panthers - Konsta Helenius RW
It sucks being the best team to not make the playoffs but drafting in the middle of round 1 is a decent perk. Ty has a massive prospect list so I think he'll just go BPA.
17. Calgary Flames (From DET) - Igor Chernyshov LW
Another team without an obvious team need. I think Kevin will reach for the Russian playing in the OHL on the back of his league leading 2.39 PPG.
18. New York Islanders (From BUF) - Terik Parascak RW
While Parascak fell short of last seasons totals, he still put together a good year and great playoffs. I think Joe will take the shot on the talented offensive player at 18.
19. LA Kings (From NYR) - Jett Luchanko C
Rumpy doesn't really need the center here, but Luchanko has a very high floor since he almost made the Flyers out of camp this year.
20. San Jose Sharks (From UTH) - Michael Brandsegg-Nygard RW
I'm really not sure on Sumit's drafting habbits yet, so we'll just take BPA here for the Sharks.
21. Calgary Flames (From BOS) - Cole Hutson LHD
I have a list of risers I think will be picked in round 1 but I couldn't find a spot earlier for the uber talented Dman. I think Kevin would be thrilled to add Hutson but I have a feeling he's on someone else's radar earlier in the draft.
22. Washington Capitals - Sacha Boisvert C
Larry has a bunch of defensive depth so I suspect he'll lean towards a forward here. Boisvert is BPA at 22 in this mock.
23. San Jose Sharks (From NJD) - Adam Jiricek RHD
See pick 20. No idea on where Sumit leans with his picks. Jiricek is BPA on this draft board.
24. Colorado Avalanche - Liam Greentree LW
Pat has a draft guy, though it's probably someone from The Athletic. I think Greentree's 119 points this season makes him the target here at 24.
25. Winnipeg Jets (From DAL) - Nikita Artamonov LW
Doc mocked Artamonov to himself in his article and who am I to argue with the man himself.
26. Minnesota Wild (From NYI) - Stian Solberg LHD
I don't think defense is a team need for Minny, but his 5 points in 10 games in the AHL from a hard hitting defensive dman looks good on paper and I think will be the pick here.
27. Vancouver Canucks - Cole Beaudoin C
I think Tyler will target a forward with his pick, and BPA for forwards is Beaudoin.
28. San Jose Sharks (From CAL) - Yegor Surin W
Just sticking with BPA here for Sumit. That's Surin in this mock draft.
29. Montreal Canadiens (From CHI) - Carter George G
Steve has Gajan in the system but I don't think that stops him from looking for his goalie of the future here at 29th.
30. Columbus Blue Jackets (From TB) - Mikhail Yegorov G
The Jackets could use a goalie prospect and Yegorov is sitting right there. Best to snap them up now before Rex gets them all.
31. Ottawa Senators (From NSH) - Ben Danford RHD
I didn't see any homer type picks from Brayden last year, but I think he may view the Leafs prospect as a valuable trade asset at the very least.
32. Anaheim Ducks (From EDM) - Emil Hemming RW
Devon misses the Barrie Colt Beaudoin by a few picks but luckily there is another Colt player available in Hemming. If my memory isn't completely shot from marijana use I believe I saw Devon comment negatively on Hemming's play this season in Barrie...but a decent playoff performance might have him redeemed.
