New Regime Almost done making changes
GM Villeneuve tweaks roster
When Steph Villeneuve took over the Ottawa Senators, everyone expected there to be changes. With a roster stuck in limbo and a plethora of prospects in the tool chest, the Sens made splashes right away. Bringing in Sidney Crosby proved to be a franchise altering move, adding a top 3 player to a team that was on the cusp of contention. Once Crosby entered the fold, the Sens acted quickly to add all star dman John Klinberg, goalie Brian Elliott, wingers David Backes, Tomas Tatar and Leo Komarov and blueliner Adam Pelech. The projected lineup as of today figures to be something along the lines of:
Huberdeau-Crosby-Tatar
Lee-Tavares-Backes
Killorn-Wennberg-Cirelli
Sissons-Bonino-Komarov
Ekman Larsson-Klinberg
Ekholm-Zaitsev
Petrovic-Pelech
Elliott
Lindback
You can expect a few more changes in the weeks to come as the Sens have been very public of their desire to add a top line RW as well as an upgrade on Elliott in net. But for now Ottawa continues to field offers on Wennberg, Cirelli and others while they make improvements in an effort to conquer the Eastern Conference and bring the cup to the Nation's Capital!
