Western round finishes up

Preds    1

Flames  0

As game 7 began it was fairly evident the visiting Preds were a little gun shy and Calgary tried to take advantage of it jumping out to a 13-5 first period shot total. Fortunately for Nashville K.Lehtonen didn't have any jitters and the first ended in a scoreless tie. The second period was a carbon copy of the first only it was the Preds on the attack and Bobby Lou stealing the show for Calgary. I don't know if Calgary was tired for the third period as Nashville continued to press and when E.Kane scored on the PP the hometown Flames had no answer! Not the most exciting of game 7's but Preds win 4-3

Jets    2

Stars  3 OT3

Now this was a game 7 the way it should be played! One team got up, the other battled back....we had line brawls...we had PP goals....and we had overtime, alot of it as a matter of fact! In a series that should have already ended with the Stars up 3 games to 1 and dominating their opposition it was ironic that the best game the Jets played statistically was the game they go home on. Dallas went into the third period trailing by a goal and when Connor Brown scored with just 7:13 to go in the third to put the Jets up 2-0 it looked to be over. Dallas replied quickly however scoring their first just 36 seconds later and before they had even announced the goal they had scored again 11 seconds after that to erase the deficit. Apparently emotions were running high for both clubs at that point as they decided to have a good old fashioned line brawl to ensure the fans were into the game! As the game wore on into overtime with every shot causing the fans to hold their breath the advantage started to tilt to the home side. As was reported following the last game, MAF was starting the game 100% healthy while J.Howard was a bit run down and was making this start out of neccesity! Dallas wasn't doing a whole lot offensively throughout the overtime periods but it became clearer as time went on that fatigue was creeping into Howards game and despite being outshot in overtime 25-13 it was Dallas that would net the winner. Dallas survives a huge scare and moves on winning 4-3
