Playoff Daily Recap
Vegas 2
Hawks 0
With this series shifting back to Chicago the Blackhawks were hoping the home crowd and the comfort of their own beds would help keep the momentum of a road slit going but alas, it was not to be! Maybe Chicago was too comfortable in fact as Vegas completely owned this game from the opening puck drop as Chicago was a step slow to every loose puck and outworked in every battle as evidenced by the penalty parade. Chicago took 7 penalties to none in the game for Vegas and although Vegas took an 0-fer on the PP it took 14 minutes of even strentgh time away from Chicago and forced their role players into more ice while the stars sat and watched. P. Rinne had a very easy night in the net for Vegas to pick up his 2nd win of the playoffs and will be 100% for game 4 which adds to the suddenly steep uphill climb for Chicago. Game 4 coming up with Vegas leading 2-1
Oilers 5 (OT)
Kings 4
LOOK AT THAT SCORE!!!! What a game, end to end action....chance after chance...save after save.....punch and counter punch.....errrrrmmmm....nope....this game wasn't any closer then the series to this point! That OT loss is a complete anomally and very flattering to the home side as Edmonton came into town and handed LA their collective asses. Edmonton had built a 3-0 lead thru 2 periods and outshot the hometown Kings 31-11.....yes 31 to fckn 11....are you kidding me??? 31 to fckn 11 on home ice with the season on the line....really??? Only thing that would have been worse was if there was a Zamboni driver in net....because he would have won as well! After the second period, which LA managed just 2 shots on goal, the chorus of Booooo's from the crowd at least put some fire in the belly of the young Kings. LA came out for the third at least on a level playing field and traded chances with the Oilers and were realistically dead until they somehow managed to net 2 goals in the final minute to tie the game and force overtime. The Oilers are a veteran team however and despite taking the win for granted and pissing away a sure win they were able to regroup and again focus on the task at hand. After tieing the game LA never got another shot on goal as the Oil reasserted themselves and are now just 1 win away from the broom job! Oil up 3-0
Jets 2
Wild 5
So I am guessing someone didn't like me pointing out that Bryce always has weird playoff sims and decided to toss 1 this way? Or maybe C. Price read my article and realized that this series is his to lose? I don't know what the answer is but this game featured 7 goals by teams that don't score alot and don't give up alot on a mere 22-19 game shot total. We see periods with that many shots and less goals! In any event GM Al got exactly what he needed with another strong outing from his goalie whereas GM Cunt got another shitty start from Price, who was pulled after giving up 4 goals on 13 shots, and has now taken a slight advantage going to game 4. This was a very low event game with 4 of the 7 goals coming on the PP and this style will suit the Wild just fine. With both goalies in Minny playing well and Price apparently off of his game there could be an upset brewing. Wild up 2-1
Av's 1
Stars 2
Big Junya in Big D.....after two bizaare, high event games in Colorado the series shifted back to Dallas for a total snorefest and GM Junya couldn't be any happier. Colorado is a high octane offensive machine capable of putting double digit scoring on the board on any given night but Junyas recipe for success is built around 2-way players that take care of their own end of the rink and limit chances against. Tonight the game plan was executed perfectly holding the visiting Av's to under 30 shots and grinding the game to a halt. With B. Bishop returning to his usual self the Stars got out to an early lead and suffocated Colorado from that point on allowing them to play the style of game they were built to play. Colorado is not a team that gets shut down too often so game 4 will be very interesting to see if that can happen again. Dallas leads 2-1
