2020-2021 Goalie Rankings
Who has the ability to be carried by their goalie next season?
I have not been adding the Free Agents in my last articles because they weren't too significant. For the forwards, there was only Marchand and Bergeron that were ranked in the top 50 and Letang and Suter were the only notable top 25 Defensemen. When it comes to the goalies, there are 2 yuuuge notables. Rask and Khudobin are clearly well above the rest of the group and both are UFAs. This will make for a very interesting bidding war. I have ranked the top goalies that are on a team into 2 groups. I think there are are 2 tiers after the two UFA studs, top level and then the other good goalies.
Team | Tier 1 |
EDM | Connor Hellebuyck |
NYI | Andrei Vasilevskiy |
DAL | Ben Bishop |
CLB | Jacob Markstrom |
ARI | Mackenzie Blackwood |
STL | Tristan Jarry |
PHI | Corey Crawford |
STL | Elvis Merzlikins |
COL | Philipp Grubauer |
Team | Tier 2 |
COL | Pavel Francouz |
MON | Jordan Binnington |
LVK | Linus Ullmark |
MIN | Semyon Varlamov |
MON | Carter Hart |
CHI | Mikko Koskinen |
LAK | Antti Raanta |
CHI | Robin Lehner |
-Eric has 2 top goalies! Too bad the rest of his team is so bad, he's wasting the rates.
-Bravo Anthony! The guy takes on a "dump" and ends up with a top 10 goalie. He will be able to cash in big with that.
-Bryce has 2 high end goalies, Rumpy, doesn't that seem fishy?
-Will Dave go for it with 2 high end goalies? Not good enough to win and not bad enough to tank. Which way will he go?
-As stated, Rask and Khudobin are miles above Tier one, so whoever wins the bid will instantly become a contender for a payoff spot.
