Playoff Daily Recap

Another drops

Hawks    3

Vegas     2

Vegas went home up 3-1 in the series with the opportunity to drive the final nail into the Hawks season but despite doing everything right they missed the nail! GM Bast has to be pleased with his team performance these playoffs but the play of Chicago's netminders has been equally as good and although this series should have already ended it may yet get more interesting then he would like. Vegas outshot Chicago all 3 periods and 43-31 overall but they have not been able to convert those chances as often as they perhaps should have and now find themselves in a tighter series then most thought. With game 6 heading back to the windy city it likely won't be easy and we all know about game 7's....we know that we don't know....so who knows? Chicago has to be given some credit as well as they have not exactly just laid down and they did manage to generate some chances of their own to slip out of town with the win. If Vegas can continue to play the way they have to this point however it is unlikely the heroics in goal can continue but Chicago will take what they can get and look to extend this even further. Vegas still up 3-2

Wild     4

Jets      1

Dubnyk...Dubnyk....Dubnyk.....can you hear the chants? Well he most certainly will when he takes the ice in Minnesota with the opportunity to close out the first playoff series win of GM Al's short tenure. GM Cunt probably has a few colorful words flying around at this point as his heavily favoured Jets sit 1 loss away from extinction. This game was the most dynamic of the series so far with plenty of offense and a combined 73 shots on goal. The Jets managed to pour 39 of those shots on Dubnyk but only 1 got past while C. Price was outperformed yet again allowing all four goals but more importantly trailed by 3 heading to the third. With the way these 2 teams play defense, or maybe offense, a 3 goal lead in the third is just too much to overcome. GM Cunt has seen this film before however and will look to steal this next game and head home for game 7. It will be a tall order but this series is razor thin and it can still go either way. Wild up 3-2 and headed home

Awwwww Fck! Thought about just leaving the recap that way but......so this game GM Bryce managed to find a little offense and got 3 past B. Bishop which was good, the problem is that defense first GM Junya found a helluva lot more offense then we have seen from his lineups. We all know Dallas plays a strong defensive game centered around keeping the scores against low with strong goaltending and taking advantage of his strong special team play. What we don't usually see is him trailing at 2 separate times during the game, coming back from a 2 goal deficit once, and pumping 41 road shots on goal but we saw it tonight. This game started perfectly for Colorado jumping out to a 2-0 first period lead but Dallas rebounded to tie it before the period ended. Colorado was undaunted however and rallied to take another lead in the second only to have Dallas tie it again. Dallas must have smelt the blood in the water as they took control of the third with 21 shots on goal but more importantly got 1 of them to go in. Goalie Bob had a strong game, especially in the third, but just wasn't strong enough to get Colorado the win they needed to stay alive. Dallas wins 4-1
