Playoff Daily Recap
Wild 5 (3OT)
Jets 4
OMG!!!! The Jets headed home a confident bunch for game 7 having gone down this road before and appeared to know exactly what they were doing. The Jets plan for success the last several seasons has been to keep games low event, low scoring and doing enough on special teams to take games late. That appeared to once again be the plan and they executed it.....sort of!! This was a very dull affair from a shot and chance aspect for most of regulation time but was very high event for everyone with an interest in this game. When regulation time ended with shots being 29-26 and no PP goals on the board it is incomprehensible to believe this headed to overtime tied at 4 with C.Price pulled and watching from the bench. Things were looking great for the visitors when Minnesota somehow put their 4th goal of the game on the board early in the third to take a 4-1 lead and force C. Schneider between the pipes . The Jets to their credit didn't fold however and when J.Benn got his second of the period to tie it with the goalie lifted the miracle comeback had happened. All that was left to do for the Jets was to execute that plan in overtime and they would once again slide into round 2 of the playoffs. Once again the Jets appeared headed in the right direction and when the third overtime ended they had outshot their opponent 35-20 in the extra frames. D.Dubnyk simply would not allow another goal making save after save before Minnesota would finally end it with a PP goal from T.Tatar. Dubnyk stopped 60 shots in the win and is the MVP of this team and the series! Wild win 4-3
