Playoff Daily Recap

Sens     4

Habs     1

What to say about this? Two high end teams from the east predictably met, predictably battled hard, and maybe some predicted who would win but I don't think many predicted the Sens would come back from a 3-1 game defecit with 2 of those games being on the road. The improbable happened and the Sens are off to the Eastern finals. This game was as close as the series with not much to choose between, but it was the Sens that were the ones that were able to take advantage of their opportunities. With both teams playing the shit out of their top lines it was the lesser lights that were shining brightly as Jujhar Khaira and Justin Williams both netted their firsts of the playoffs to open the scoring and that would be all that was needed. As we have seen in some of the other series it was once again either a great goalie performance or a piss poor goalie performance (sometimes both) that has directly impacted the result and tonight was no exception. While J.Binnington didn't play poorly at all he did surrender 4 goals while his counterpart D.Kuemper was out of this world stopping 38 of 39 shots to put the final stamp on this series. No matter how you sliced this series someone was going to have to lose where neither one deserved to.....tonight the Habs lost but didn't deserve to! Sens onward to face Columbus
