Playoff Daily Recap
Western Finals
Stars 2
Oilers 1
And the Junya train just keeps rolling along! Round 1 of the high-powered Oil offense vs. the suffocate you defense of Dallas goes the way of the Stars. After a very even first period, which saw both teams trade goals ended it was a much different second and third that followed. GM Junyas Stars once again got a lead and slowly and methodically just chipped away the clock until it was at zero. This was yet another example of what Dallas can do to teams as Edmonton was held to just 26 shots for the game after falling behind in the second. B.Bishop was his usual solid self stopping 25 of the 26 shots faced while only allowing a PP marker in the first and now moves to 9-2 in the playoffs. As was alluded to in past rounds, Dallas is a strong frontrunner and to beat them you have to play with the lead......can anyone do that? Does GM Leon toy with the idea of breaking up the dynamic duo of McDavid-Stamkos.....change strategy....spread out the ice time???? Whatever happens, Edmonton needs the next game as going back to "Big D" down 0-2 will not be good! Dallas with an early leg up leading 1-0
