Playoff Daily Recap

Oilers    2

Edmonton limped into this game in desperate need of a win and got it. Curtis McElhinney was forced into his first start of the playoffs due to the ugly "fatigue" injury and it couldn't have come at a worse time for GM Leon. With Edmonton having already lost game 1 and facing the prospect of heading back to Dallas down 0-2 in the series this could have been lights out for the series before it even got started. As it turned out GM Leon got a well played game from his whole squad but an especially strong game from his netminder stopping 30 of the 31 shots faced for the win. This was just the shot in the arm Edmonton needed as C.Hellebuyck will be back to 100% for game 3 and now have a win and some confidence under their belt. This was by no means a blowout and in fact could have gone either way with a bounce here or there so as the series shifts back to Dallas we will have to see if the Oilers can take back home ice. Dallas still feeling comfortable heading home tied at 1
