In a game Edmonton simply had to have they managed to scrap their way to a victory despite the heroics of goaltender J.Quick . Quick made 50 saves despite giving up 6 goals and was the reason Vegas was given the opportunity to steal this game to begin with. That isn't to say that Vegas didn't have their moments as they did play a strong second period putting 19 shots on goal and actually taking a lead into the third but you simply cannot allow 56 shots on goal in any league and expect to win. This was a confident Vegas squad that took the ice this evening up 2 games and the belief had to be there that they could simply win anyway they wanted and a shootout win was just as good as a shutout win. This clearly isn't the route the coaching staff will want to continue down going forward however so we can expect some changes for game 4. Edmonton shows some life while Vegas is still comfortable up 2-1

As predicted by someone (me), the on again off again Stars have switched back to the off position and the Colorado staff couldn't be happier. Dallas simply hasn't been consistent like we have seen the previous 2 seasons and tonight was yet another example of that. After 2 hotly contested periods Dallas headed to the room with a 3-1 lead....last year or the season before Dallas would have locked that shit down and maybe allowed 6 shots doing it! This season however is a whole new ball game and 18 shots and 4 goals later the buzzer sounded with a regulation loss. Is Colorado simply a better team this year, is Dallas just not as good as in the past, or does Dallas need to get shit-kicked a couple of times to play their best? Colorado now has the lead and taken back home ice so we will find out the answers very soon! Game 4 coming in Big D with Aves leading 2-1
