Eastern Semi's

CBJ      0

Isles     5

The Isles returned to home ice looking for a boost from their fans and they got it.....sort of. In a game that can be summed up in just a few words, it was boring and largely uneventful. Both squads looked a little run down in this one and despite the final score was a very close affair. J. Markstrom simply was not himself for Colombus allowing 4 goals on just 18 shots before being removed while his counterpart stopped all 25 shots he faced for the shutout. The Jackets will certainly be looking for more in Game 4, especially in goal, while the Isles are glad the Game 1 faux pas Vasilevskiy had is a distant memory and hope to continue the hot shooting! Isles up 2-1

Leafs      3

Habs      4   OT

I'm thinking the scores between the games should be reversed. As CBJ and the Isles had a very close affair end in a very lopsided score and somehow this game that was anything but close went to overtime me thinks the hockey gods are just having fun! Montreal returned home and played inspired hockey from the opening puck drop taking control of the play immediately and never relinquishing that control outshooting their opponents in all 3 periods and the overtime . The problem was A. Khudobin had one of his better nights of these playoffs keeping his team alive despite their ineffectiveness. The final shots for the game were 45-21 in favor of Montreal and if Montreal somehow managed to blow this it could have been the beginning of the end for them. As it stands now however, the hockey gods rewarded the better team on this night and Montreal now has a 2-1 series lead. The talented Leafs will look to even things up in Game 4 while Montreal looks to hold serve at home and take command. Habs up 2-1
