Eastern Semi's
Isles 3
CBJ 4 OT
Colombus came into this contest with their backs to the wall needing a win to simply survive in this series and they were able to accomplish the task. Facing an Isles team using their back-up tender, being at home, and facing elimination you would have expected a Colombus drubbing but what happened was anything but. If not for the heroics of J.Markstrom and his 40 save performance the season would have ended and tee times would have been being booked. Colombus managed a mere 25 shots for the game but they took advantage of a power-play in overtime to steal away a game they didn't deserve to win. Whatever is ailing Colombus better be fixed soon as they will likely face A.Vasilevskiy the rest of the way and a performance like this evenings won't get it done against him. Heading back to NY with Isles up 3-2
Habs 6
Leafs 0
Wow......what a bitter way to end a terrific season! As we have grown accustomed to seeing on a regular basis, division, conference, and Presidents trophy winners have been bounced early and often in the playoffs and the Leafs were the victim this evening. To say the score was not at all flattering is a huge understatement but the score didn't reflect the game. This game was played pretty evenly throughout but the Leafs goaltending situation was a complete disaster on this night and in this series. This stellar team gave up at least 4 goals against in all 4 losses and the starter had been removed from the game in the last 2. Are the Habs for real? Are the Leafs not really that good? We will have to wait until next season to find out about the Leafs but the Habs await their next foe for round 3. Habs win 4-1
