32 Thoughts from Estonia
Part 1 of the Critically Acclaimed Series (Teams 1-12)
Team Name: Dallas Stars
Current Rank: #1, 36-7-3
PP: 1st
PK: 4th
MVP: Sean Couturier, 25G – 36A = 61P
Not MVP: Ryan Carpenter, 0G – 1A = 1P, -1, how are you a minus rating on this team?
Description: Junya’s biggest threat is currently himself and the Sharks. Junya easily gets triggered whenever his team loses and Sharks win. More recently when Anthony defeated Junya 7-1, he went on a rampant rage in the chat directing many rude remarks toward the Sharks management. This was very uncharacteristic of Junya and shows just how much of a threat that the Sharks are to him. Junya’s time in BRHL is slowly vanishing as his cup window/reign has ended. The Sharks are the new leaders of the league. Junya will enjoy regular season success but will easily fail come playoff time.
Team Name: Anaheim Ducks
Current Rank: #2, 36-11-1
PP: 11th
PK: 2nd
MVP: Mika Zibanejad, 22G – 33A = 55P
Not MVP: Andrei Svechnikov, 8G – 15A = 23P – Someone who is playing on the 3rd line but with an equal ice time allocation as the rest of the team, this is a big disappointment.
Description: Devonte started off the season unbeatable and unstoppable. He has since traded wins and losses in his last stretch of games. His next stretch of games includes ECHL rivals such as Leafs, Canadiens, Senators and the Red Wings. A series of games which he should easily sweep. If any of these are losses, this makes room for the big bad Sharks to take over first in the pacific which is going to happen anyways. Devonte has about 11m cap space according to the site and could easily add to the team should he wish.
Team Name: Boston Bruins
Current Rank: #3, 33-10-2
PP: 2nd
PK: 1st
MVP: Patrice Bergeron, 22G – 32A = 54P
Not MVP: Alexander Kerfoot, 1G – 2A =3P, -4, no surprise here as a Leaf underperforming
Description: Greg S.A Almeida (the S.A stands for Sumit. Aruba) is for one a very lucky man. We made 3 deals this off season. From Bergeron, Gaudreau and then Saros. Saros being the most crucial one to his team’s success. Saros currently has a 23-8-2 record with a .927 save %. Greg has a window of capitalization to capitalize on, unfortunately, he will not win the cup this year but he will put forth a good battle. Greg is also unlikely to get any sim luck due to the fact he has held hostage a 1hr 12m off-season podcast that had some of the league’s top entertainers onboard. Rumor has it Greg will lose his media and podcast rights and a Lion from the West will be taking over.
Team Name: Washington Capitals
Current Rank: #4, 29-10-8
PP: 15th
PK: 23rd
MVP: CHRISTIAN DVORAK! – 28G – 27A = 55P
Not MVP: CARTER VERHAEGHE! – 12G – 12A = 24P, this guy has a fresh 89 scoring rating but only 12 goals AND playing on the 4th line with an equal ice time allocation as the other 3 lines? Awful.
Description: VERHAEGHE! BUCHNEVICH! VATRANO! TUCH! TOEWS! PIETRANGELO! COYLE! MRAZEK! CAMPBELL! VIAGRA!. Larry is having a successful season, the G.O.A.T.E.T.T.E.E.I.T.B.R.H.L.S.A (if anyone guesses these acronyms Larry will send you 5m brhl bux and Greg will send you a foot picture. Joking aside, I feel like Larry has been proving haters wrong since he has joined and has patiently built a roster competent of beating very weak eastern conference teams. Larry is also paying Mrazek 19M to play in 4 games and is also using him as a 3rd string goaltender. Great cap allocation in my honest opinion.
Team Name: San Jose Sharks
Current Rank: #5, 31-11-3
PP: 26th
PK: 13th
MVP: Leon Draisaitl, 27G – 30A = 57P
Not MVP: Max Pacioretty, 16G – 15A = 31P, weak numbers for such elite ratings
Description: Forever In Junya’s Head.
Team Name: Chicago Blackhawks
Current Rank: #6, 32-15-1
PP: 22nd
PK: 20th
MVP: Ryan O’Reilly, 20G – 21A = 41P
Not MVP: Tanner Jeannot, 6G – 7A = 13P, 49PIM, you paying this guy to take penalties?
Description: David Yee, in my opinion, one of a couple surprise teams this year. The team is not stacked but it is well balanced. This goes to show you the power of a strong goaltender as I believe Lehner is keeping this team at a high level of compete. Considering there are no top 10 players on this team (aside from goalie rankings) and also considering the Special Teams of this team are near the bottom, it is clear that without Lehner this team would be lower in the standings. With all that being said, David has done a good job.
Team Name: St. Louis Blues
Current Rank: #7, 31-12-2
PP: 18th
PK: 6th
MVP: Logan Couture, 30G – 45A = 75P
Not MVP: Jake Guentzel, 12G – 22A = 34P, considering Guentzal has the second highest PA and SC rating on the team, disappointing season, however it could be because Couture is hogging all the points.
Description: The Cat Man, also known as the one to put an end to the amazing winning streak to start the year of the Sharks. Also a surprise of the year. Perhaps one of the best UFA signings this off season was Couture as he is currently dominating the league with 75 points and is on pace for a groovy season. Rumors are swirling that Crosby will be traded to the Blues at the deadline. I think it is a perfect fit. The Central is currently a mad house, with the Avalanche and Wild just behind the Blues currently. Does Cat-Man make a move to strengthen his team AND risk ruining chemistry? Or does he stick with it.
Team Name: Las Vegas Golden Knights
Current Rank: #8, 31-14-2
PP: 6th
PK: 5th
MVP: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, 28G – 31A = 59P, somewhere in the world, Rumpel is drooling
Not MVP: Jesse Puljujarvi, 5G – 9A = 14P, sub par numbers for someone playing on the third line with equal ice time allocation
Description: Also another surprise of this season. I don’t think Joe himself thought he would be sitting where he is. This team’s strength is Defense and Goaltending. With studs like Burns, Provorov, Weber and Ullmark keeping this team afloat – definitely over powers the fact that Garnet Hathaway is their second line center playing with Forsberg and Olofsson. Joe has 4 first round picks this draft but has the playoffs so far to look forward to.
Team Name: Calgary Flames
Current Rank: #9, 30-14-3
PP: 13th
PK: 7th
MVP: Adam Fox, 8G – 40A = 48P
Not MVP: Connor Brown, 2G – 3A = 5P, traded for Bennett which itself was questionable but props for being a lion and going for it
Description: Kevin has a one year window with lots of players with ratings that will not sustain their current powers and also goaltending problems after this season. Regardless this team is a fountain of youth and Kevin has enough assets and chips to make moves. The question is if he is lion enough to make such moves and not be conservative. Will he make the necessary moves to become a true contender in the Pacific.
Team Name: New York Islanders
Current Rank: #10, 29-12-4
PP: 4th
PK: 10th
MVP: Aleksander Barkov, 30G – 36A = 66P
Not MVP: Nikolaj Ehlers, 10G – 14A = 24P, considering Ehlers is in an offensive role on the second line these numbers are pretty putrid just like Toby’s team
Description: Perhaps one of the best last names in the game, Mr. Bubanj has a team to be feared. Will likely do some damage in the playoffs. Perhaps some remastering of strategies and lineup combos to ensure he is getting the most out of all 4 lines is in need. Any team with Barkov and Vasielevsky is one that will have success and Mr. Bubanj has surrounded them with a great supporting cast thus far this season.
Team Name: Minnesota Wild
Current Rank: #11, 29-12-4
PP: 17th
PK: 9th
MVP: Kevin Fiala, 19G – 21A = 40P
Not MVP: Jason Zucker, 2G – 2A = 4P, pretty abysmal numbers for a top 9w.
Description: I had Big Al much higher than this in my pre-season rankings which reminds me I will integrate those into these after I finish. I guess it does not help that the Central division is an absolute madhouse. Al has one of the best rosters in the league but needs to find a way to strategically take advantage of that with better line combinations, deployment and strategies. Now is the time to tinker as when you hit the playoffs you need to ensure you are firing at all cylinders.
Team Name: Carolina Hurricanes
Current Rank: #12, 29-13-4
PP: 16th
PK: 17th
MVP: Andrew Copp, 17G – 24A = 41P
Not MVP: Mikhail Sergachev, Devonte what was his contract again brother?
Description: This season is all about if Mr. Richard SBF Cordell (SBF stands for Sumit’s Best Friend) can finish ahead of the young Lion as there is a $50USD wager on who will finish higher. Rumor has it when Sumit wins, he will use the $50USD to unlock 2026 picks. Richard will obviously make the playoffs but will he strengthen his roster before the deadline to ensure he finishes above the Sharks?
