Daily Recap
Flyers 0
Caps 4
Game 2 kicked off in Washington with the hometown Caps leading the series 1-0 and looking for more. If you simply looked at the final score you'd think the Caps just bitch slapped the visitors from Philly! After looking at the boxscore the game went exactly as expected as the Flyers didn't get the memo to play while the Caps and their fans clearly did. Jack Campbell got the start and the shutout as the listless Flyer offense could only generate a paltry 22 shots on goal making for a very easy night between the pipes. Meanwhile the Caps assumed control in the first netting a PP goal and never looked back the rest of the way! Series heading back to Philly with Washington up 2-0!
Isles 2
Canes 3
This playoff rematch from last year resumed in Carolina with the Canes having the early advantage up 1-0 in the series. Unlike the previous game on the schedule both teams showed up in this back and forth affair with Carolina once again coming out on top! To say that there wasn't much to choose between these 2 teams is putting it mildly as the score was tied after both the 1st and 2nd periods and the shots ended 30-29 in Carolinas favor but for the second straight game it was Cam Talbot who outdueled A. Vasilevskiy for the win. Carolina holds serve up 2-0 with Game 3 in New York coming up.

Bruins 3
The WTF game of the night took place in Boston as the hometown Bruins were looking to salvage at least a split before heading to Columbus. As Boston is the top seed in the East and a playoff favorite there is nothing wrong with a 3-0 win but call a spade a spade, this was an absolute cluncker from the home side. Trailing 1-0 in the series and on home ice there was much more expected from this group and if not for the heroics of J.Saros Boston would have been in serious trouble. Saros stopped all 34 shots he faced for the shutout while the offense only managed a very discouraging 13 shots for. Not exactly the type of play GM Greg will like or be comfortable with heading to Game 3. Despite this game 2 loss for Columbus it is mission accomplished stealing home ice and returning home feeling good about their team play. Series tied at 1 but certainly feels like this series may be Columbus to lose!
Leafs 0
Habs 3
In the final game of the evening the hometown Habs entertained the visitors from Toronto looking to improve on their 1-0 series lead. The Montreal faithful would not be disappointed as despite a lopsided first where it ended tied at 0 the home side would never be in any difficulty, never trail, and cruise to a rather easy 3-0 win. J. Binnington stopped all 27 shots faced for his first victory of the playoffs and with both Habs goalies playing so well it doesn't appear that the Leafs will get a "soft spot" to get back into this. Leafs returning home looking for answers down 2-0
