Daily Recap
Western
Ducks 3
Oilers 2
This once in control series is now anything but heading to a game 7 following a dominant Game 6 win by the visiting Ducks. People may ask how can a 1 goal win be dominant but the flow of the game from the opening puck drop until the final buzzer was tilted towards the Oiler net as the Ducks outshot the host Oilers in all 3 periods and 43-28 overall. To make matters worse for the Oilers they allowed Jake Oettinger a relatively easy night in goal ensuring that he will be healthy and ready to go for the deciding Game 7. At least GM Sumit got 1 thing right when he predicted a couple of Game 7's as the Ducks and Oilers are heading to Anaheim for it now...it just won't be for San Jose....see below....Game 7 upcoming tied at 3
Flames 5
Sharks 0
Ouch....ouch....and OUCH!!!! First ouch....Sharks eliminated from playoffs in ugly fashion: Second ouch.....Junya was right pointing out the obvious deficiency on the Sharks defense which GM Sumit will have to hear about for the next 5 years or until he quits!.....Third ouch....pay, pay,,, fckn pay some more so start being the data entry king as you are financially fck'd! I don't know whether to laugh or genuinely feel sorry for Sumit but either way he will be enjoying a long offseason to reflect! Flames oust the self proclaimed champs in six to advance to the next round.
Stars 6
Wild 4
The second series to end on this evening featured the always dangerous Dallas Stars facing off against GM Al and his Wild in Minnesota. The series ended predictably with the Stars advancing but this wasn't the cakewalk most were expecting as Minnesota simply would not go quietly into the night. Minnesota fought tooth and nail every step of the way and tonight was no exception as even though eliminated they outshot Dallas for the game. This series was just a case of Dallas having a few more horses in the barn and despite the Wild matching the Dallas work ethic they just simply aren't good enough to trade punchs at this time. Congrats to Junya for advancing and congrats to Al for icing a competetive team that will look to take another step in the offseason! Dallas wins 4-2
Hawks 1
Blues 3
Nobody will catch me betting on this series anytime soon...like wtf is going on here? Like the Ducks series previously mentioned this series will be heading to a Game 7 but unlike the Ducks series there hasn't been alot of flow to this one. One second the Blues are in complete control....then they lose it totally and are pushed to the brink of elimination....now get a win to stay alive and force a Game 7 in Chicago. Like this series has been this game was basically a coin flip throughout as both teams had chances and puck luck had alot to do with the outcome. Despite this game being virtually even thru 2 the score read 3-1 Blues and Tristan Jarry was able to shut the Hawks out from there to cement the win. Nobody knows which way this series will go but at least both GM's have their full roster at 100% going to the deciding Game. May the best team win....Game 7 in Chicago
