The "Bologna bowl" continued with a very disappointing finale to an otherwise very competetive series. GM Linke was very accurate when he stated "your only in trouble when you lose at home", but the unfortunate part for Larry was he picked Game 7 to do it. The Caps NEVER trailed in this series and it was all the Flyers could do to hang around but man wtf was that for a Game 7? Washington had been solid all year and very good at home so it was expected that they would advance being the higher seed but wtf was that AGAIN!!!! Outshot 42-19 on home ice in Game 7???? Did I already ask WTF WAS THAT??? The surprising thing about this game was that despite the horrible effort from the home side was that the score was 1-1 at the end of 2 periods. With their playoff lives hanging in the balance and being outshot 25-12 to that point it was expected that the Caps would rally behind their tender but instead were fed the cock to the tune of a 17-7 shot disadvantage and a unexpected first round exit. Congrats to GM Anthony  for discovering his back-up matched up well against Washington going 4-0-1 in these playoffs. Congrats to Larry on a fine season despite the ugly finish. Flyers advance 4-3

Say it ain't so!!! Damien the Omen....errrr...A. Vasilevskiy as the league knows him as ...has FINALLY been banished back to hell....lol. After numerous games over the last couple of years of having the all-world netminder steal games and/or be just good enough to dash Carolina's playoff hopes he finally succumbed and tasted a playoff defeat. That certainly was not to say he didn't do his damned best to do it again and it took until Game 7 to finally accomplish it. Carolina blew a 3-1 series lead and to say the sticks were getting squeezed a bit tighter is an understatement as GM Rich could do nothing but sit and watch his home side try and do something they haven't been able to do. After a first period that had the visitors outshoot the Canes slightly the game totally tilted into Carolinas favor and much like the Caps/Flyers this Game 7 wasn't close. Tampa was outchanced and outshot by a wide margain and when the dust had settled the shots were 44-23. Congrats to Joe on another great season despite the early and congrats to ME FOR FINALLY getting past "Blue Balls" Canes advance to round 2 with 4-3 win
