Daily Recap
Western Game 2
Oilers 3
Flames 1
The battle of Alberta continued in Calgary with the Flames up a game and looking for more on home ice. The Oilers had other ideas however and when the dust settled we are left with a series tied at 1 and Edmonton stealing home ice. The script for the Oilers was as basic as it gets but the script is one thing, the execution of the script is entirely different. On this night they were one and the same as Edmonton wanted/needed a good start....check! Edmonton needed a lead....check! Edmonton needed strong goaltending to repel the Calgary push back....check again and check mate! This game could easily have gone either way as both sides had numerous players have strong games but ultimately it came down to which team could actually put the biscuit in the basket with both teams recording 36+ shots on goal. Tonight was Edmontons night....tomorrow??? Looks like another long series now tied at 1
Blues 6
Stars 3
The second road team on the evening to enter trailing by game left with a series tie like the Oilers above. Looking at the scoreboard and Dallas ability to keep scores low you'd think that they got run out of their own barn but that was hardly the case. Pretty sure Igor Shesterkin was caught on film pumping the neighbors cat or something because he sure as fck wasn't focused on the game surrendering a very uncharacteristic 6 goals on just 28 shots. Having said that, the rest of the Stars were anything but Stars themselves managing just 28 shots of their own in a less than inspiring effort that saw them outshot in the third period by a 12-7 margin and outscored 3-0. No need for either side to be overly concerned at this time however as this now becomes a best of 5 tied at 1
