Daily recap

Oilers 3
Flames 1
This back and forth affair returned to Calgary for Game 5 all square at 2 and it was yet another battle. Once again there was very little to choose between these 2 as Calgary entered the third period with the slimest of leads up 1-0. Unfortunately for the home side it would only take the visitors 23 seconds of the third to erase that lead.and then take a lead of their own later in the period when C. McDavid potted his 10th of these playoffs. An empty netter later this nailbiter looked like a comfortable win but with these 2 so evenly matched this writer is still predicting a 7 game series. Oilers return home looking to close out the series up 3-2
Blues 4
Stars 0
This pivital Game 5 looked anything but important to one of these teams as it was over before it started. Dallas laid a complete egg and for one of the very few times Igor Shesterkin was a key component to it. Shesterkin allowed 4 goals on just 11 shots before giving way to a stunned Z.Fucale whom clearly was not expecting to play. Fucale did his job however stopping all 20 shots he faced but his teamates had already checked out and did nothing offensively at all mustering a mere 22 shots for the game. In a series most if not all of us had pegged for an easy win for Dallas we head back to St.Louis with the Blues leading 3-2
