Daily Recap

West

Flames    3

Oilers      2

And the battle of Alberta rages on and will now continue to Game 7. GM Leon made some quality moves at the deadline to add to what was considered a fringe playoff team and has completely changed the look and feel of his franchise. GM Kevin also added to a team that had high expectations to begin with and this is now the results for both. A series that was expected to be a battle is living up to the hype and this game like this series was a razor thin difference. When the puck dropped for the third period the game was tied at 2 but Calgary started the 3rd on the PP and took full advantage of it taking a lead that they would not relinquish. This game could have gone either way as the Oilers slightly outshot the visitors but M.A.Fleury was his usual solid self and kept the Flames alive throughout. Game 7 on the horizon back in Calgary.

Stars     1

Blues    6

Excuse me??? This is a serious WTF!!! Other than GM Eric....who thought St.Louis would get out of the first round? So lets take anyone that thought that maybe GM Eric could get out of the 1st round....who in the fck thought he could take out perennial contender Dallas? NOBODY!!! In a shocker of a series these Blues not only took out GM Junya and his Stars but were full value doing so. Dallas generated zero offense for the last 2 games and turned a very close series that was tied at 2 into a 4-2 series defeat looking ugly doing it. St.Louis to their credit once again dominated the game outshooting Dallas 44-24 and despite exiting the first period trailing 1-0 stayed the course outscoring their foes 6-0 the rest of the way. St.Louis will now await the winner of Calgary/Edmonton where they will once again be the underdogs.
