The western finals finished up with this Game 7 in Calgary and to say the league is stunned may be an understatement! The St.Louis Blues are advancing to face off with the Carolina Hurricanes following a shocking series victory. Most in the BRHL gave the Blues little or no chance to get out of the first round of the playoffs let alone a western finals victory after trailing in games 3-2. Even more impressive was the way T.Jarry was able to keep his team alive throughout these playoffs with superior goaltending including this unexpected road victory.This game was there for the taking all evening as neither team really took control at any point but was finally sealed when Aston-Reese potted his 3rd of the playoffs into an empty net. Carolina, although maybe not quite as shockingly, was also not expected to make the finals over the likes of the Isles, Bruins, and Habs but here we are. I guess that's why we play the games as the saying goes and further proof that if you make the playoffs you have a shot! Game 1 of the cup on the horizon.
