BRHL Finals

Blues     4

Canes    5

The strange and wonderful world of Sim hockey finally made an appearance in the Finals after numerous earlier displays! In the game that Carolina probably should have lost, after games they should have won, the Hurricanes staved off elimination for at least 1 more kick at the can. Despite a back and forth affair where both teams had numerous opportunities to score it was the visitors from St.Louis that was taking full advantage of theirs while Carolina simply couldn't find the mesh. St.Louis took a commanding 4-0, lead mostly on the strength of their 3 for 3 power-play, just 1:47 into the second period and the building was already starting to empty. E. Malkin was finally able to net 1 for Carolina exactly 1 minute later and that lone goal was all that was needed to start an epic comeback and send what was left of the home crowd into a frenzy. Carolina would eventually net 5 straight goals in regulation with the game deciding goal coming on the power-play ironically enough with under 7 minutes left to play. J. Bernier got the surprise start in goal for Carolina and somehow hung around long enough to record his 3rd win of the playoffs despite surrendering all 4 goals. Although the 4 goals allowed won't make too many people smile the 41 saves and the win will. Broom job avoided heading back to St.Louis with Blues in command 3-1
