Toby's Analysis

Hey you cucks, it is time for a guy who doesn't know how to win a trade to tell you who won other BRHL deals. Let's get right into it.

The first deal in review is:

Rangers send Mika Zibanejad (with rentention) to Detroit in exchange for Seth Jarvis + 3 mil.

The first thing I want to get into here is the salary Zibanejad will be paid by Dan this year and the two years following. 25% retention in year 1, meaning Zib's contract is only 6.675 mil this year, and 50% retention in year two meaning Zib will only be paid 4.45 mil by Dan next season. In year 3 Dan will pay the full 8.9 million. To me the retention on this deal is what turns it into an absolute Homerun for Dan. While Seth Jarvis had a promising first year with the IRL Hurricanes putting up 17 goals, and 40 points in 68 games, he has been struggling to match the rookie season production this year, and is on pace for only 13 goals and 39 points. Seth Jarvis to me is a very one dimensional player, and with the way the Hurricanes are built IRL, I feel that he may never get a shot to kill penalties and really drive up his value in the sim the way it would need to for Larry to have won this deal. On the other hand, Zib is on pace for 82 points this season, 36.8 of those projected points to be goals, which is almost more than Jarvis is pacing for total points. Obviously there is a gap in age and I get that, I just feel like given the above circumstances that Larry definitely needed to get more to win this deal, and I think quite a bit more.  Dan is the winner here.

The next trade I'll take a short look at is:

The Capitals acquire Paul Stastny from Montreal in exchange for Charlie Coyle.

At first glance I would;ve been okay with this deal for Larry, but me reviewing it after the last one has me confused as hell on this. This is what looks to be an even exchange of rental players, but Coyle has been the better of the two this year and will rate better next year, Larry likes to compete so keeping Coyle, and having loyalty on him in FA in my eyes would've been a better option for him. Steve wins due to this deal making more sense for him, not a huge gap in value or anything crazy, but the loyalty is what makes me lean towards the Coyle side, if Steve even elects to try and keep him in FA.

Next Deal: Boston trades Cody Glass + 3 + 7 to Vancouver in exchange for Owen Tippett + Antti Tuomisto.

Initial thoughts here are that this is a pretty even trade in terms of value, but I do think Tippett is the best NHL player in this deal and for that reason I am going to side with Greg here. In my eyes, in an even exchange of value whoever gets the best player wins, and I believe that player is to be Owen Tippett, although it could very well depend on opinion.

Next Deal: Detroit acquires SJ 2023 1 + 2023 CAR 3 from San Jose in exhange for Ilya Mikheyev + PIT 5th.

For fuck sakes Danny, do you mind going easy on the roasting people in trades? Mikheyev on his best day is a very low end 2nd line player and has never played more than 54 games in an NHL season. Although he was on pace for almost 50 points with VAN this year, I struggle to believe he'll repeat that production, and not only that but the team around him in large is not going to be there by the end of the upcoming offseason. I think a first + 3rd for him is just too rich for me given the production he's likely to have on a bottom 5 IRL team for the next few years, hope that DF rating is high! Sorry Brother Sumit, extra oily biceps tonight for this review.

Next Deal: Boston trades 2 7th round picks for Riley Sheahan and nobody gives a single fuck about this pile of shit. Onto the next one.

Next Deal: Jesus, how did we go from the previous trade to this? This is going to take some breaking down. The Boston Bruins trade Artemi Panarin, Brandon Tanev, Robert Hagg, and William Karlsson to the Flyers in exchange for Dylan Strome, Filip Hronek, Tom Wilson, and Kirill Marchenko.

Where do I even start with this? Let's go through these guys contracts one by one, along with their NHL stats averaged out over an 82 game span.

Bruins Side:

Dylan Strome: 3 x 3.3m, 82 Game Pace: 17 goals, 57 points

Tom Wilson: 3 x 6.045, 8 games played this year so not going to 82 game pace him, he has 3 points in those 8 games, but if healthy I do expect him to pick things up, just needs some time.

Filip Hronek: 3 x 4.356, 82 game pace, 12 goals, 56 points.

Kirill Marchenko: Not created, this is quite an 92 game pace though, 38 goals, 38 points??? Imagine he kept this up LOL.

Flyers side:

Artemi Panarin: 50% retained this  year at 3.78 mil, one year remaining after this at a touch over 7.5 mil. 82 game pace: 20 goals, 84 points.

Brandon Tanev: 2 x 1.6m, 82 game pace: 15 goals, 20 points

William Karlsson: 2 x 6.552m, 82 game pace: 18 goals, 55 points

Robert Hagg: not basing how good he is off points obviously but he's only played 13 games for the wings this season and has 2 points, but all I have to judge him off of is a -8 with  2 assists lmfao.

I think it is clear in this trade that Anthony added the best player in the trade. With that being said I think Greg got the better end of the value in this deal, I don't think he destroyed the flyers organization or anything ridiculous like that, but I definitely think that he won this trade in the long term. Sorry guys but I am running out of time so this is where we end. Hope you all enjoyed the read.
