East Round 2

CBJ       1

Isles     6

Wow.....thats about all that needs to be said! In what was obviously a move to give starting goalie J. Markstrom a rest GM Jesse went to back-up J. Allen hoping to steal a game but more looking to future games. This move not only didn't pan out but completely backfired as his team came out flat, Allen shit the bed stopping just 14 of 18 shots, and Markstrom was forced into the game cutting his rest short! A. Vasilevskiy once again got a relatively easy night in goal facing just 20 shots for his 5th win of these playoffs and will be fresh for game 3. The series now shifts back to Columbus where a complete reversal of fortunes is required for the home side or this series will be over before it starts. Isles hold serve and look to take a stranglehold on the series up 2-0

Bruins     3

Habs      4 (OT)

After a couple of thefts in the previous series Boston got a taste of what it feels like to play a great game and lose in this one. After nearly 3 full periods of great road hockey GM Gregs Bruins were poised to even up this series but it was not to be. Boston controlled the game flow throughout putting double-digit shots on goal in all three periods and outshooting Montreal 37-28 while leading 3-2. Unfortunately for Boston, in the final minute with the net empty, the 29th shot allowed in the game forced the overtime session. Just over 2 minutes into the extra frame B. Nelson potted his 4th of the playoffs sending the home crowd into a frenzy and into the local bars. Boston will look to regroup following a very tough loss heading home. Habs also holding serve up 2-0
