West Round 2
Oilers 3
Flames 2
Game 3 was played in Calgary but after a rather spirited first period turned into a complete snorefest. Edmonton took complete control of this one early putting a very excited crowd to sleep by netting 2 before the 8 minute mark was reached. Fortunately for the crowd the Flames didn't fold and responded with a pair before the first ended to tie things back up again and the shootout was on! Well, not really! These two offensive powerhouses put a solid 9 shots on goal COMBINED in the second period putting even the coked out patrons to sleep and anyone watching had to be wondering if anyone even wanted to score at that point. A. Mathews decided to make an appearance in the third for the Oilers netting just his 3rd of the playoffs but it was the all important deciding goal in this one to steal home ice back in this rather dull affair. Calgary will look to wake up from the trance for Game 4 now trailing 2-1
Av's 6
Blues 3
Ouch! As was stated in the last western recap "you aren't in trouble until you lose a game on home ice"....well the Blues are in trouble! After losing both games in Colorado the Blues returned home hoping to flip the script and flip it they did....problem was Evander Kane and the Av's shooters didn't give a fck! St. Louis played their best game of the series outshooting Colorado 16-7 after 1, 27-20 after 2, and 41-33 for the game but E. Kane potted 3 for the visitors himself to cancel St.Louis output and now the fat lady is warming up with a broom in hand. T. Jarry simply had no answers in goal for St.Louis giving up 4 goals on 18 shots before getting the hook but it was too little too late for that move. Colorado is a wagon and continues to show it now with a commanding 3-0 lead!
